A tale of a sacred pool so deep
Where a magical force does sleep
Sacred waters, so pure and deep
All who enter must take a leap
For the ancient Mayans, a place of awe
When they needed guidance, a sacred law
A place to bathe, to call upon their gods
To seek out answers through ritual and nods
From the depths of this pool did they believe
That their fears and worries would be relieved
The sacred cenote, so dark and deep
A place of healing
