I fell for another one of dVerse’s Quadrille prompts. Could it be because it’s fun and challenging? Or because their article introductions are so catchy? Or perhaps the poetry that they share in their examples entices me to have to partake?

Whatever the reason is, here is my Quadrille using the word “Friday.” A Quadrille is a poem of exactly 44 words, not including the title.

Radiance

"Good morning"
We say with chin-up cheer
In our voices
Return the smile bright as Suns
Mid-day glow to
Show the World
We're almost done
And just got paid
The World awaits
The Weekend's here
Enjoy our lives
As blissfully
Thank God it’s Friday

  5. I really like the descriptor “chin-up cheer,” and that it’s not on the face, but in the voice.

    1. I appreciate that. That’s the feeling I have when walking down the back hallway at work, the one with the tall glass windows.

  7. I love that you called your Friday quadrille ‘Radiance’, Willy, and that radiance is reflected through your poem. I also like the phrase ‘chin-up cheer In our voices’.
