Lately, I’ve been captivated by the daily rituals of famous writers, curious about the habits that fuel their creativity and discipline. Michael Crichton, the brilliant mind behind “Jurassic Park” and “The Andromeda Strain,” had a writing routine that strikes a perfect balance between structure and flexibility. His days seamlessly intertwined writing, research, and personal life. Here’s a glimpse into how Crichton managed his time:

  • Early Start: Crichton often began his day early, around 5 AM.
  • Exercise: He believed in maintaining physical fitness and often started his day with some form of exercise.
  • Breakfast: His meals were healthy, focusing on balanced nutrition to support his demanding schedule.

  1. That’s an interesting schedule, and disciplined. I think full time writers have a lot more freedom, obviously, to craft a schedule that works and then to maintain it. Harder for those with competing priorities. But lots of lessons in here about self-care and a balanced life. I’ll bet that has something to do with his success. 🙂

  2. Please just stop with the AI art. It’s ugly and ineffectual. I’m not an artist and I have no moral qualm with using it, but it seems so amateurish, like an 8-year-old designed the site. Better no art than AI art. Spielberg doesn’t look like Spielberg. (There really is no pictures of Spielberg in the public domain?!) The picture seems cheap.
