I was recently reading an article on the Ancient Code website about Napoleon’s legendary night inside the Great Pyramid. The story goes that he emerged the next morning pale and shaken, having seen something “no one would believe.”
But digging deeper, I found that his private secretary explicitly stated Napoleon never even went in! He likely stayed outside while the legend took on a life of its own. It got me thinking about the nature of these experiences and spawned this response for the dVerse challenge. This weeks’ challenge is to write a 44-word poem, using the word “Trip.”
The Emperor’s Void
He claimed he slept inside the stone,
a conqueror upon a throne.
But records show he stayed outside,
and so, the legend died.
No spirits give a sudden power,
just silence in the midnight hour.
The trip is inward bound,
where truth is found.
What do you think about Napolean’s visit to the pyramids? Do you think Napolean actually stayed in the supposed King’s chamber, emulating what Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar did – if you believe that as well? I mean, it would make sense as these men have been known to have a God complex.
