As we dive into today’s poem, let’s talk about the power of healing. Whether it’s through the written word, art, or simply sharing our stories, healing is an essential part of our human experience. It’s messy, it’s painful, but it’s also transformative.

Still Healing

I'm at it again,
I wanna quit but I can't.
I can't even tell you
how many times now.
Yeah, I've had some time-outs,
but I never overcame the pains that
I hide from in plain sight.

The pains grow with
each use, and the mantras
are just an excuse
to forgive myself for trying.
But I alwasy lose the grip
on my noose.

To get to the point where I say
"I've been here before."
Each time pushing further,
regreting and pausing to reflect
and say, 'never again.'
Knowing that it'll only be
a matter of 'when?'

  1. Wow this is a really raw poem. The title drew me in. The words are honest if not heart wrenching – success is usually preceded by failure.

    1. Thank you for the kind words and support. This morning was rough and I was in my “feels” 😁

      1. I could feel your feelings in that poem. I hope tonight and tomorrow morning will be much better!

The State uses horror to keep you compliant. We use it to set you free.

You think you’re reading for the thrills? You’re actually witnessing a rehearsal for your own submission. The monsters under your bed have migrated into our laws, our economic systems, and our political speeches.
