Infernal Ovum

It ripens to a cocoon within seconds.
Noxious, oozing vile odors
perpetuating the agony,
exacerbating the nostril hair sting.
But like a train wreck,
I can't look away.
Perhaps the smell intoxicates
the mind to a sedative state?
And now I'm bound to witness
the birth of our demise -
a cocoon of rapture
from another sky.
