Poetry has a unique way of painting vivid pictures and evoking deep emotions with just a few carefully chosen words. This poem “Time Travel,” explores the enigmatic and mystical language of the Sun, intertwining elements of mythology and natural imagery.
Time Travel
The secrets the Sun speaks
Behemoth tongue twists
Like bending archways
over Poseidon's tidal waves.
Summon the lost kids,
Offer the last kiss,
and wrap up the lunches,
because we go backwards
though these fractals.
“Time Travel” invites readers to delve into a realm of mysticism and wonder. The poem’s imagery of the Sun’s “behemoth tongue” twisting like archways over the sea conjures a sense of grandeur and otherworldliness. The reference to Poseidon’s tidal waves adds a mythological layer, evoking the power and mystery of ancient deities.
The poem takes us on a journey that seems both fantastical and introspective. The lines “Summon the lost kids, / Offer the last kiss,” suggest a yearning for connection and resolution. The final lines, “because we go backwards / through these fractals,” hint at a cyclical or recursive exploration of time and memory.
