I just finished reading The Slob by Aron Beauregard, and I have to say, this is probably one of the most disgusting, vile, visceral, and well-written books I’ve read in a while. Granted, I usually enjoy horror and descriptive content, but I never thought I’d encounter anything like this.

We score this horrific book a (5 out of 5) coffee mugs ☕☕☕☕☕

I used to think some of the stuff I wrote and thought about was pretty gross and visceral. But now, I feel totally normal after reading Beauregard’s work. This book is profoundly disgusting in so many ways. Just when you think something can’t get any grosser, Beauregard turns it up a notch, challenging your perspective and pushing boundaries.

One of the standout aspects of this piece of fiction is its refusal to offer a happy ending. I’m over the happy endings. I enjoy real endings—endings that make you feel something, make you think, or show the harsh truth that sometimes the bad guys do end up winning. Not everything gets a hunky-dory resolution, and The Slob embraces this reality.

The ending leaves room for a follow-up, and you can tell Beauregard knows what he’s doing. If you’re into visceral and disgusting fiction, check this book out. Give it a read. I highly recommend it. I would definitely read more fiction like this.
